Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP). Instituto de Química (IQ)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

Pharmaceutical Sciences (2003), with a Masters in Pharmaceutical Sciences (2006) and a D. Sc. in Chemistry (2012) from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Her research has focused on micro- and nanotechnologies for therapeutic applications, with an emphasis on supramolecular aspects of these systems. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute of Chemistry, State University of Campinas, Brazil, and was a visiting researcher at the Department of Chemistry - Physical Chemistry Division at Lund University, Sweden. Currently, she is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Chemistry, UFRGS, and a permanent advisor for the Graduate Program in Chemistry at UFRGS. She leads the Laboratory of Supramolecular Chemistry for Biomedical Applications, focusing on the development of bioinspired supramolecular systems with significant therapeutic potential. Her expertise encompasses the design and synthesis of novel organic molecules responsive to biological stimuli by adapting classical synthetic routes, the production of inorganic nanozymes using precursors in solution or bicontinuous media, and the development of advanced organic nanoparticles through host-guest chemistry and the self-assembly of lipids and polymers. In addition to her academic research, she is recognized for her innovative extension projects, which have led to patents and strategic partnerships with the industrial sector in nanotechnology. Throughout her academic career, she has balanced research and student supervision with continuous involvement in management and representation roles, including serving as a member of the Council of Teaching, Research, and Extension at UFRGS (2017-2018) and as Deputy Head of the Department of Organic Chemistry at IQ-UFRGS (2015-2017). She was on maternity leave from September 2018 to March 2019. ORCID: https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7217-0007 (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
