Letícia Freitas Guimarães

Holds a Bachelor's degree in Geology from University of São Paulo (USP) and MSc and PhD degrees in Mineralogy and Petrology from the same University. Part of her PhD research was conducted at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) in Munich, Germany.Working on the topics: volcanology, igneous petrology, geochemistry and textural analysis, aiming to understand the generation, evolution, and eruptive style of intraplate igneous provinces (Paraná Magmatic Province, Fernando de Noronha, and Trindade Island).Selected by ALVO (Latin American Association of Volcanology) to attend the Specialization Certificate for the Assessment and Management of Geological and Climate Related Risk at the University of Geneva (Geneva, Switzerland), and contribute to the elaboration of a comprehensive volcanic risk ranking method, which was applied to the Latin volcanic systems.Previously served as a Professor of high-temperature geochemistry at Centro Universitário São Judas Tadeu - Campus Unimonte. Currently based at the Department of Geology of the Geosciences Institute - Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) teaching Geochemistry and Mineralogy.Co-founder and former Director of Academic Relations at the Brazilian Association of Women in Geosciences (ABMGeo).
