Graduated in Physics from the State University of Rio Grande do Sul (1984), he received his Ph.D. in Space Physics from National Institute of Space Research (INPE). He occupied a postdoctoral position in Kyoto University (Uji-Shi, Kyoto, Japan). Currently, he is a member of Aeronomy Division of INPE. He has focused on: airglow; atmospheric waves; ionospheric bubbles and optical instrumentation for upper atmosphere (ground-based and satellite). (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
