Dr. Gowdak has graduated in Medicine (1991) and had a PhD in Cardiology (2003) both from São Paulo University. He worked as a fellow in the Gene Therapy Unit, Laboratory of Cardiovascular Science, NIA, NIH, in Baltimore from 1997 through 1999. Presently, Dr. Gowdak is a Medical Scientist at the Laboratory of Genetics and Molecular Cardiology and at the Chronic Coronary Artery Disease Unit from the Heart Institute. He is also the Head of the Refractory Angina Research and Study Group. He has experience in Medicine, focusing on Cardiology, acting on the following subjects: coronary artery disease, myocardial ischemia, refractory angina, angiogenesis, gene therapy, cell therapy, and cardiovascular disease in patients with chronic renal disease.
