Graduated in Veterinary Medicine by the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (1991), MSc (2000) and Ph.D. (2006) in Experimental and Comparative Pathology by the University of São Paulo. Currently is the Director and also a Scientific Researcher at the Herpetological Laboratory - Butantan Institute. Has interest in the following areas: maintenance and reproduction of snakes in captivity, clinical pathology, parasitic diseases, preventive medicine, infectious and noninfectious diseases of reptiles.
