Graduated in Agronomic Engineering from the Center for Agricultural Sciences (CCA), Araras campus, at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar). Holds a Masters and Ph.D. in Agronomy: Plant Protection from UNESP/FCA, Botucatu campus. Completed technical training in Biochemistry at the Conselheiro Antônio Prado State Technical School (ETECAP) in Campinas. Interned at the Dow AgroSciences Experimental Station in Mogi Mirim. Has experience in the fields of Plant Pathology and Molecular Genetics, with an emphasis on Virology, particularly in the following areas: insect vectors (Bemisia tabaci and thrips), soybean viruses (carlavirus and begomovirus), molecular techniques for detecting viral diseases in plants, and population dynamics studies of whiteflies and thrips. Currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Florida, focusing on the development of molecular and taxonomic methods for diagnosing invasive thrips associated with leguminous crops in Florida.
