Maria Christina Barbosa de Almeida

Bachelor in Library Science and Documentation at Escola de Comunicações e Artes / USP (1970), Master in Communication Science at the Escola de Comunicações e Artes / USP (1989) and PhD in Information Science at the Escola de Comunicações e Artes / USP (1998). From 2009 until 2013 was the Director of the São Paulo city public library - Biblioteca Mário de Andrade. During more than 30 years taught in the Dept of Library Science and Documentation at the University of São Paulo and now is retired as docent but works in research and consulting. Her main areas of research and professional practice are: cultural policies, art information, art libraries, library architecture programs, and library planning and evaluation.
