Professor at the University of São Paulo, at the Institute of Geosciences (IGc) from 1982 to 2006, and at the School of Arts, Sciences, and Humanities (EACH) from 2006 to 2018. Bachelor's degree in Geology (1977), Master's degree (1981), Doctorate (1986), and Associate Professor (1999) from IGc at USP. She obtained the title of Full Professor at USP through EACH in 2009. She was a doctoral advisor in the Graduate Programs in Geochemistry and Geotectonics at IGc USP (from 1988 to 2013) and in Teaching and History of Earth Sciences at the Institute of Geosciences at UNICAMP. She has conducted research in Surface Geochemistry. She works to promote Geosciences and their role in Education. She also served as a professor and author of Geology in the Bachelor of Science program at USP in a blended learning format (distance learning). She was the organizer and author of two university textbooks: Decifrando a Terra (Deciphering the Earth) and Geologia (Geology). She was the coordinator of CAPES-COFECUB international scientific collaboration agreements, graduate courses (IGc) and undergraduate courses (IGc and EACH), and chair of the Undergraduate Committees (IGc and EACH). She was Technical Advisor to the Dean of Undergraduate Studies at USP during two rectorships. She was a CNPq researcher from 1988 to 2013. She was Director of the School of Arts, Sciences, and Humanities at USP (from 2014 to 2018). She retired in March 2018.
