Master's at Microbiology from Universidade Federal de São Paulo (1990) and ph.d. at Microbiology from Universidade Federal de São Paulo (1995). Has experience in Immunology and Microbiology, acting mainly on the mechanism of resistance to infections, especiallly gastrointestinal infections caused by rotavirus and Escherichia coli. She also works iin the Museums Education field. She was Director of the Museum of Microbiology, Institute Butantan from 2002 to 2010, working especially in the coordination and development of research projects in the area.
