bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering by Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo (1968), master's in Mechanical Engineering by the same School in 1972 and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering by the University of Waterloo, Canada (1977). Most of his researcher career was at IPT - Instituto de Pesquisas Tecnológicas (Technological research Insttitute) and at Escola Politécnica (Engineering Faculty from USP). Presently he has retired from IPT, but keeps teaching at the University and developing engineering projects, mainly related to internal combuction engines and alternative fuels. The combination of the fuel balance and the fuel temperature control is used for measurement of the fuel consumption of gasoline and diesel engines on engine and chassis dyno test beds in research and development for measuring quantities up to 1800g.
