Bachelor of Physics (1989) by the Institute of Physics and Chemistry of São Carlos (IFQSC) of the University of São Paulo. He completed his master's degree (1992) and doctorate (1997) in Basic Physics at the Institute of Physics of São Carlos (IFSC) at the University of São Paulo. He completed postdoctoral studies (1997-1998) at the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of Ribeirão Preto (FFCLRP), University of São Paulo. He is Professor PhD, level 2, at the Department of Physics of FFCLRP - USP. He works in the area of Statistical Physics of Complex Systems (with publications involving percolation studies, Ising type magnetic systems, polymer growth models, tumor growth models and social dynamics). He also acts in the application of information theory in signal analysis (with publications involving the use of informational entropies in biomedical signals) and time series forecasting by artificial neural networks.
