He holds a degree in Physics from UNICAMP (1986), a master's degree in Physics from UNICAMP (1990) and a PhD in Physics from UNICAMP (1994), with a "sandwich" scholarship at CREOL (Center for Research and Education in Optics and Lasers), University of Central Florida (UCF). He is a member of SBF - Brazilian Society of Physics, member of SBEB - Brazilian Society of Biomedical Engineering, and associate of CITÉ - Center for Innovation, Technology and Education, headquartered in the Technology Park of São José dos Campos. Postgraduate professor (1996-present), he has research experience in the area of #8203;#8203;Optics and Lasers, applications of optical technology in Biomedical Engineering, devices and sensors, linear and nonlinear characterization of optical materials, optical spectroscopy, and medical applications. He was coordinator of the Laser Laboratory at Univap (1996-2009), coordinator of the Optics and Photonics Laboratory at Universidade Brasil (2009-2016) and Coordinator of the Optics and Biophotonics Laboratory at UAM (2016-present). He currently develops research on the following topics: linear and nonlinear optical characterization of molecules with pharmacological interest, photophysics, molecular spectroscopy, photonics, biophotonics and biomedical optics.
