Bachelor's degree in Physics from the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS, 1998) and a PhD in Applied Physics from the São Carlos Institute of Physics at the University of São Paulo (IFSC/USP, 2004). He completed two postdoctoral periods at the Photonics Group of IFSC/USP (2004-2005, 2007-2008) and served as a Research Fellow at the Optics and Photonics Laboratory of the University of Michigan from August 2005 to July 2007. He is currently a full professor at the Institute of Physics at UFMS, where he is part of the Graduate Programs in Materials Science (PGCM) and Chemistry (PPGQ). He coordinates the Optics and Photonics Group (GOF), focusing on biophotonics, agriphotonics, bioenergy, photodiagnosis, and new materials, as well as the Evidence-Based Public Policy Group, which conducts research and data collection to support the formulation of public policies and programs.
