Graduated from Federal University of Pelotas (FAEM - UFPEL, Pelotas, RS, Brazil) in 1990, received a Master degree in Genetics and Plant Breeding from University of São Paulo (Dr. Akihiko Ando and Dr. Francisco Javier Zapata-Arias Lab at ESALQ - USP, Piracicaba, SP, Brazil) in 1994 and received a Ph.D. in Plant Physiology and Biochemistry from Washington State University (Dr. Ryan Lab at IBC - WSU, Pullman, WA, USA) in 2000. In 2003 I was awarded a "Young Researcher Grant" from São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP, Piracicaba, SP, Brazil), at which time I joined the University of São Paulo (ESALQ -USP, Piracicaba, SP, Brazil) as associate researcher. In 2009 I joined the faculty of the Department of Biological Sciences in the same university where I am now an Associate Professor in Biochemistry. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
