Carlos A. dos Santos Dr. Santos has a B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the School of Engineering of Piracicaba (1994), a Masters degree (1997), and a Ph.D. (2001) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), and a postdoctorate from the State University of Campinas (20012005). Dr. Santos is a full-professor at Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS). His research is in metallurgical processes and material science, focusing on materials and manufacturing processes, acting on the following topics: solidification of metals, phase transformations, testing materials, correlation between solidification conditions, microstructure formation and properties, materials-biodiesel interactions. He is a member of the Brazilian Association of Metallurgy, Materials and Mining (ABM), the Brazilian Association of Engineering and Mechanical Sciences (ABCM), and the Brazilian Society for the Advancement of Science (SBPC). Chair of the Mechanical Engineering program at PUCRS between 2009-2011, and the dean of the School of Engineering between 2012-2017. Dr. Santos has a scholarship in Research Productivity 2CNPq (The Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development). (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
