Bachelor in Chemistry at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1982) and a PhD in Biochemistry at the Universidade de São Paulo (1988). Has experience in Molecular Biotechnology, working in the following subjects: Vaccine development, recombinant BCG, pertussis, pneumococcus, tuberculosis and schistosoma. She is researcher at the Butantan Institute's Vaccine Development Laboratory (formerly Biotechnology Center). Has experience in Molecular Biotechnology, focusing on Vaccine Development, acting on the following subjects: recombinant BCG vaccines, pertussis, pneumococcus, tuberculosis and schistosoma. She has been Vice Director of Fundação Butantan (2005-2009), Director of the Center of Biotechnology (2010-2016) and of the Laboratory of Vaccine Development of Instituto Butantan (2016-2019) and Member of the Steering Committee of the Developing Countries Vaccine Manufacturing Network (DCVMN) (2006-2014) and Comissão Técnica Nacional de Biossegurança (CTNBio) (2013-2019). Currently is member of the Academic Management Board of the LIVE-Leading International Vaccinology Education Course of Erasmus / European Union and Comissão de Ética em Pesquisa com Seres Humanos do ICB -USP (2020-).
