Biologist graduated at Universidade Estadual Paulista - UNESP Campus de Rio Claro - (1995), Master in Forest Sciences at USP/ESALQ (1998) and Ph.D. in Plant Biology at UNESP de Rio Claro (2001). He held a Post-Doctorate in Plant Stress Physiology at USP / ESALQ (2001-2003). He served as a professor at the Universidade do Oeste Paulista (2001-2015), where he was coordinator of the Masters in Environment and Regional Development (2011-2015). He is currently a Full Professor at the Federal University of Pelotas, acting as coordinator of the PPG in Plant Physiology from 2018-2020. Member of the board of the Brazilian Society of Plant Physiology since 2015 (President of the XVIII Brazilian Congress of Plant Physiology). He was a member of the CLE / UNICAMP Self-Organization Group (1997-2017), where he developed research on self-organization and cognition in plants. He has experience in Botany, with an emphasis on Plant Physiology, working mainly on the following topics: plant electrophysiology, ecophysiology and physiology of stress in plants, plant cognition and theoretical biology.
