I am a Professor of Air Transport Economics at the Aeronautics Institute of Technology (ITA) in São José dos Campos, Brazil. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of São Paulo (USP), a Master's degree in Air Transport from ITA, a PhD in Economics from the University of Warwick, UK, and a Habilitation (Livre-Docência) from USP. My research, studies, and student supervision at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels focus on Economics and Applied Econometrics in Air Transport. My primary area of expertise is the analysis of market dynamics and airline operations, as well as competitiveness aspects related to the airport sector and air traffic management in Brazil. I serve as the Coordinator of the Air Transport Economics Research Center (NECTAR-ITA) and the Head of the Air Transport Department at ITA. I am the author of the book Voar é Para Muitos (Edusp, 2023) and the Latin American representative on the Editorial Board of the Journal of the Air Transport Research Society (JATRS, Elsevier), maintained by the global air transport research society. For more information about my work and research interests, visit my personal website at alessandrovmoliveira.com (in English) and my blog at avmoliveira.blogspot.com (in Portuguese), which serve as platforms for personal presentation, scientific dissemination, and discussions on relevant topics in Brazilian air transport.
