Angel Roberto Barchuk graduated from National University of Misiones, Argentina, in 1996, where he studied Biology and Genetics. In 1998 he joined University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil, where he obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. in Genetics. Thereafter, he engaged in Post-Doctoral studies at USP, and Australian National University (2004-2007). In 2007 he became Professor of Cell Biology at Federal University of Alfenas (UNIFAL-MG), Brazil, and in 2010 he got his tenure at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences, UNIFAL-MG. Currently, in addition to teaching, he acts as Supervisor of Undergraduate, Graduate, and Post-Doctoral students, in researches focusing processes of animal developmental plasticity and evolution, using the honeybee Apis mellifera and the bean weevil Zabrotes subfasciatus as animal models.
