He holds a degree in Chemistry from the Universidade Federal Fluminense (1988), a master's degree in Chemistry from the Federal University of São Carlos (1991) and a PhD in Chemistry from the Federal University of São Carlos (1995). Full Professor, with a doctorate in the area of theoretical chemistry, with more than 58 papers published in international journals classified in Qualis. It has an average of more than 60 citations per year in the last CAPES four-year period. He has nine book chapters published. In the last ten years, he has participated in committees in the University. He also actively participates in scientific societies, being regional secretary of the SBQ. He completed postdoctoral studies at CBPF (1996-1998), Universitat Jaume I (2008) and Southern Methodist University/USA (2020). He was coordinator of institutional research projects. He was coordinator of several national events, including SeedMol and SBQ-CO, having participated in the creation of both. He participated in the international committee of several editions of Quitel. He was Guest Editor of the Journal of Molecular Modeling (since 2016) and Revista Virtual de Química in celebration of SeedMol. Coordinates multi-user institutional laboratory. Edited and published SeedMol proceedings books with DOI and ISBN. He is a research group leader. In the last ten years, he has supervised more than 45 completed IC, master's and doctorate students. He currently supervises 8 students in two postgraduate programs. He has been actively working on extension projects with high school students. Has collaborations with researchers from the University of Lisbon/Portugal and Texas Tech University/USA. Has experience in the area of Chemistry, with an emphasis on Theoretical and Computational Chemistry, with qualified production in the following areas: adsorption; heterogeneous catalysis, van der Waals interactions, ligand-receptor interaction, protein-inhibitor, chemical remediation, astrochemistry and drug modeling.
