Fátima Siqueira Caropreso

Graduated in Psychology (1999) from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar). She holds a Master's Degree in Philosophy and Methodology of Science (2002) and a PhD in Philosophy (2006) from the same institution. She completed a post-doctoral internship (2007-2009) at the Department of Philosophy of the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). She is currently Associate Professor 3 at the Department of Psychology and the Graduate Program in Psychology at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora, where she works in the History and Philosophy of Psychology research line. Visiting fellow at the Department of Psychosocial and Psychoanalytic Studies at University of Essex. Author of "The birth of metapsychology: representation and consciousness in Freud's early work" (EDUFSCar, 2008), "Freud and the nature of the psychic" (Anna Blume, 2010) and "Between body and consciousness: essays on the interpretation of Freudian metapsychology" (EDUFSCar, 2011, co-authored with R. T. Simanke). Member of the International Association of Spielrein Studies. Researcher and coordinator of the "Center for Studies in the History and Philosophy of the Human Sciences" (UFJF), which is part of the "Research Network in the History and Philosophy of Psy and Human Sciences Knowledge (PhilPsyCh). She is a member of the ANPEPP working group "Psychoanalysis, Subjectivity and Contemporary Culture" and of the ANPOF working group "Philosophy and Psychoanalysis". Her main areas of research and teaching in higher education are epistemology and the history of psychology and psychoanalysis. She is a CNPQ Research Productivity Fellow (level 2) since 2015.
