In January 2023 he has become the Finance Minister. In 2023, he was elected by Latin Finance as The Finance Minister of the Year. In 2024, he was elected by TIME as one of the 100 most influential world leaders on climate issues, in recognition of the Ecological Transition Economic Plan developed in partnership between the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, managed by Minister Marina Silva.
