Natalia Hanazaki

Full professor at the Department of Ecology and Zoology, Center for Biological Sciences, Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, where she co-coordinates the Human Ecology and Ethnobotany Laboratory. Graduate in Ecology from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1992), master's degree in Ecology from the University of São Paulo (1997) and a PhD in Ecology from the universidade Estadual de Campinas (2001). Had a post-doctoral internship at the Laboratory of Ecology and Forest Restoration (LERF/ESALQ) from 2001 to 2002. Expertise in the area of #8203;#8203;Ecology, with an emphasis on Human Ecology, working mainly on the following topics: people-nature interactions, human ecology, ethnoecology, ethnobiology, ethnobotany and conservation. She was Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Ecology at UFSC (2012-2014 and 2022-2023), and was Adjunct professor at the University of Manitoba, Canada (2012-2020) and Visiting Scholar at Ca' Foscari University, Italy (2023).
