Graduated in Biomedicine from the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP) (1993), with a master's degree (1995) and a doctorate (2000) in Molecular Biology from the same institution. Completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Montreal, Canada, under the supervision of Dr. Pierre-Michel Huet, focusing on mechanisms of injury by ischemia and reperfusion in livers subjected to experimental transplantation. Earned the title of "Livre-Docente" from UNIFESP Baixada Santista Campus (2019) in the area of Cellular and Biochemical Bases of Metabolism.Currently a Full Professor at UNIFESP Baixada Santista Campus, with experience in Medicine, Biochemistry, and Physiology, focusing on experimental hepatology, with research interests in the following areas: hepatic modulation of the kallikrein-kinin and renin-angiotensin systems, cell death mechanisms in ischemia-reperfusion injury, hepatic fibrogenesis, and hepatic cytoprotection in experimental models.Keywords: liver, bradykinin, angiotensin, fibrosis, cirrhosis, ischemia-reperfusion, cytoprotection, experimental transplantation.
