I had graduate on Biology at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1992), obtained Master's on Microbiology (1997) and Ph.D. on Microbiology (2001) at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. In the term 2002-2009 I was a Post-Doctorate Associate and a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Florida. In the term 2009-2013, I had coordinated the grant "Prevotella intermedia interactions with epithelial cells" (FAPESP funding) as a Young Investigator at the University of São Paulo. I have large experience on Microbiology (Bacteriology) acting on the following subjects: Black-pigmented anaerobes, Porphyromonas gingivalis, Prevotella sp., Streptococcus mutans, Microbiology of periodontal diseases, Biofilms, Molecular Biology of microorganisms, Oral Biology and Cell host-bacteria interactions.
