Roberto Chust Carvalho

He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1973), a master's degree in Structural Engineering - SÃO CARLOS from the University of São Paulo (1985) and a doctorate in Structural Engineering in São Carlos from the University of São Paulo (1994). He worked at Dolfim Engenharia, Walter Pfeil and Associate Engineers in Rio de Janeiro. He is currently a retired Senior Professor at the Federal University of São Carlos and linked to the Department of Civil Engineering. Has experience in Civil Engineering, focusing on Concrete Structures, acting on the following subjects: reinforced and prestressed concrete, precast structures, design and analysis of prestressed hollow core slabs, and bridges structures. He is the co-author of two books Calculating and Detailing Usual Reinforced Concrete Structures volumes 1 and 2. The first is in the fourth edition and the second in the first edition and second reprint. He is the author of the book Prestressed Concrete Structures in the second edition. He works hard in the teaching of reinforced and prestressed concrete developing with his research group tools for use in the reinforced concrete disciplines as can be seen at www.deciv.ufscar.br/calco. He is currently coordinator of the postgraduate course "Lato Senso" Reinforced Concrete Structures and Foundation of INBEC (Brazilian Institute of Continuing Education) and UNIP (Paulista University). He was a professor of engineering at the schools of UFRRJ - Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro - Moura Lacerda Institution - Ribeirão Preto - School of Engineering of Araraquara, School of Engineering of Passos.
