Leonardo Ramirez-Lopez (1980) holds a Ph.D in pedometrics from the University of Tuebingen (Germany). He received an engineering degree in agronomy (soil science) from the University of Cundinamarca (Colombia) and a M.Sc. in soil science from the University of Sao Paulo (Brazil) at Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz. During his PhD studies he worked also at the Georges Lemaître centre for eath and climate research of the Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium) where he carried out research on three dimensional modeling of soil organic carbon. He currently works at the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research (WSL). His research focuses on pedometrics and (spatial) data mining, soil data science, digital soil mapping and soil sensing. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
