Professor and Doctor at the University of Vale do Paraíba (UNIVAP). Holds a Bachelor's and licenciature degree in Biological Sciences from the State University of Londrina (UEL) (1995), a Master's degree (1999), and a PhD (2004) in Biological Sciences with a focus on Genetics by UNESP, Botucatu, São Paulo. Completed postdoctoral research at UNESP and the AC Camargo Cancer Center (2008). Currently, he is the coordinator of the Molecular Genetics Laboratory - GeneLab, part of the Institute for Research and Development - Univap. Coordinated the Graduate Program in Biological Sciences (2014-2017) and in Biomedical Engineering (2020-2023). Coordinated and continues to lead projects as Principal Investigator for the FAPESP funding agency and works as an ad hoc consultant for the FAPESP and CNPq funding agencies. Has expertise in Genetics, with an emphasis on Cancer Molecular Biology and multifactorial disorders related to metabolism, focusing mainly on the following areas: gene expression, genetic alterations, genetic polymorphisms, molecular biomarkers for cancer diagnosis and prognosis, predisposition to multifactorial disorders, and molecular biology associated with optical spectroscopy techniques.
