Sueli Mara Soares Pinto Ferreira

Full Professor at the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil, where she also completed a Masters and Ph.D. in Communication Sciences, having been part of her studies at Syracuse University and Vanderbilt University, both in the USA. Teacher and doctoral advisor in the Post-Graduate Program in Information Science of the same University and in the bachelors degree program in librarianship since 1994. Her main area of research is scientific communication, especially open access involving topics from scientific journals and institutional repositories. Active collaborator in the area of Information Science, Librarianship, Scientific Communication and Science Development, being member in many organizations, such as: Board of Directors of FAPESP's Virtual Library (2009-2010). Director of the Integrated Library System of USP (2010-2013). Coordinator of the Brazilian Commission of Copyright and Open Access of the Brazilian Federation of Associations of Librarians, Information Scientists and Associates (FEBAB, since 2016). Member of the International Scientific Council of RedAlyc (2009-2012). Scientific evaluator of FAPESP and CNPq in Brazil (since 2005) and the Research Evaluation Workshop at PUCP in Peru (2015). Member of the Scientific and Technical Council of IBICT (2008-2010, 2017-2019). Since 2011, has been participating at IFLA in several functions, such as: Member of the Standing Committee at Latin América and Caribbean Section (IFLA LAC 2011-2019); Member of the International Expert Group of the IFLA International Advocacy Program (2015-2016); IFLA LAC Chair (2015-2017); IFLA Regional Division V Secretary (2015-2017); IFLA Regional Division V Chair (2017-2019); IFLA Governing Board Member (2017-2019); IFLA Professional Committee Member (2017-2019) and Library Development Advisory Committee Member (2017-2019).
