Licensed (1980), Specialized in Sports Training - Ahtletics (1983) and Master of Science in Physical Education (1989) at the University of São Paulo, PhD in Developmental Psychology (1993) at the University of Sheffield, UK (1993). Free Lecturer in Pedagogy of Human Movement (1998) at the University of São Paulo, Brasil. Visiting Professor (2011) at the Department of Psychology at Lancaster University, UK. He is Professor of Human Movement Pedagogy at the University of Sao Paulo, Brasil since 2003, and one of the leaders of the Study Group on Action Development and Motor Intervention (GEDAIM). He has experience in the fields of Physical Education, Neuroscience and Behaviour, as well as with that Evaluation of Graduate Studies in the Health Sciences. The research themes of his interest are: action development and context of human development, embodied cognition, curriculum development of elementary and secondary physical education. He was Senior Researcher in Neurosciences and Cognitive Sciences in the research project "Active Schools in Brazil" in the Program of United Nations for Development (PNUD) between 2015 and 2019. He was mentor at the Future17 Sustainable Development Goals Challenge Program, international consortium led by Quacquarelli Symonds-QS and University of Exeter, UK (2022).
