Associate Professor at the Department of Chemistry of the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of Ribeirão Preto at the University of São Paulo (USP). She holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the Federal University of Amazonas (1991), a Master's degree in Physical Chemistry (1996), and a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry (2000), both from the Federal University of Santa Catarina. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Analytical Chemistry at the Institute of Chemistry of USP (2005) and obtained her habilitation (livre-docência) with an emphasis in Analytical Chemistry from USP in 2017.She currently leads the Laboratory of Instrumental and Applied Analytical Chemistry (LQAIA) and coordinates the National Network Professional Master's Program in Chemistry (PROFQUI). Her research focuses on spectroanalytical techniques for isotopic and elemental determination, with emphasis on sample preparation procedures, detection and quantification of nanomaterials and their toxicological implications, bioaccessibility assays (gastric, pulmonary, and dermal) in food and soils, trace-level forensic analysis, as well as the development of innovative technological tools for chemistry education.Recently, she has expanded her research into the sustainable development of lithium-ion batteries, leading projects on lithium recovery through recycling of spent batteries and the preparation of materials such as hard carbon derived from sugarcane bagasse.
