Marcelo Dottori is an Associate Professor at the Oceanographic Institute of the University of São Paulo. He holds a bachelor's degree in Physics from the Institute of Physics at the University of São Paulo, a master's degree in Oceanography from the Oceanographic Institute of the University of São Paulo (2001), under the supervision of Dr. Belmiro Mendes de Castro Filho, and a Ph.D. in Physical Oceanography from Florida State University (2006), under the supervision of Dr. Allan James Clarke. He completed postdoctoral research at Université Pierre et Marie Curie (now part of Sorbonne Université), in Paris, France, under the supervision of Dr. Claude Frankignoul between 2007 and 2008, and at the Laboratoire d'Océanographie de Villefranche, under the supervision of Dr. Fabrizio D'Ortenzio, in Villefranche-sur-Mer, France, in 2009.
