Graduation in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1990), Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Campinas (1994), PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Campinas (1998) and Associate Professor in the area of #8203;#8203;Chemical Processes (2012). He was a researcher and teacher at the Chemical Engineering Department of UFMG (1999 to 2001), developing postdoctoral research project with the support of FAPEMIG, in the area of #8203;#8203;Alternative Processes for Black Liquor Drying. In 2015 he held a postdoctoral research at the University of Maryland (USA), in the area of #8203;#8203;energy systems, under the supervision of Prof. Reinhard Radermacher, developing a research project with the support of FAPESP. In 2015 he received the Prize for Teaching Recognition for Dedication to Undergraduate Education, granted by Unicamp. Since 2002, he has been a full-time professor at the Department of Chemical Systems Engineering, School of Chemical Engineering, University of Campinas, currently at level MS-5.3 (Associate Professor III). He has worked professionally in the area of #8203;#8203;chemical processes in the pulp and paper industry and consulting in energy projects. In the administrative area of #8203;#8203;Unicamp he has held the positions of Head of Department, Undergraduate Coordinator and Advisor to the Graduate Rectorate. He is currently developing research in the area of #8203;#8203;analysis and optimization of thermodynamic cycles (power and refrigeration) and optimization of pulp and paper production processes.
