Bachelor of Physics (1981) and Master of Science (Nuclear Physics) (1988) from the Physics Institute of the University of São Paulo. PhD in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (1998). Researcher at the Institute of Advanced Studies - IEAv (Aeronautics Command) from December 1984 until November 2023, when my retirement was formalized. I also work as a collaborating researcher at IEAv and as a professor of the Space Sciences and Technologies graduate program at the Aeronautics Institute of Technology (ITA). Experience in Electromagnetism, Hypersonics, and Scientific Computing, emphasizing Numerical Analysis, computational optimization methods, and software development to aid engineering and scientific applications. The main areas of activity at the moment are device optimization methods in Engineering, with the use of metaheuristics, FEM and analytical methods, and air-breathing hypersonic propulsion engine optimization software.Management Activities: Coordinator of the Virtual Engineering Laboratory since 1999; Head of the Applied Physics Division of the IEAv from April 2005 to April 2007. Member of the Research and Development Management Committee (CGPD) of the IEAv in 2001 and of the IEAv Research and Development Advisory Committee (successor to CGPD) in February from 2007 to 2012.
