Fabio Xerfan Nahas

Professor Fabio Nahas has a Medical degree by the Faculdade de Ciências Médicas da Santa Casa de São Paulo (1985). He did his General Surgery Residency training from 1986 to 1988 and Plastic Surgery Residency training from 1988 to 1990 at the State University of São Paulo. He did a fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham from 1991 to1992 under the guidance of Dr. Luis Vasconez. He obtained a Ph.D. degree in Medicine at the State University of São Paulo in 1997. He was selected as International Guest Scholar by the American College of Surgeons in 1997. In this program he visited 6 universities in the United States such as New York University, Mayo Clinic and the University of Pittisburgh). He has obtained the "Livre-Docência" degree at the Federal University of São Paulo in 2006. He has also a MBA degree in Business Management obtained in 2010 at the Getulio Vargas Foundation. He is presently Associate Professor of the Federal University of São Paulo with an active research line on abdominoplasty and abdominal wall reconstruction. He is reviewer of the following journals: Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Journal, Aesthetic Surgery Journal, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery - Global Open, Revista de la Asociación Española de Cirugía Estética Plástica and Revista da Sociedade Brasileira de Cirurgia Plástica (Brazilian Journal of Plastic Surgery). He was the Editor of the "Revista Plástica Paulista in 2020 and 2021. He has published 171 papers, 58 book chapters and has three edited books. His h index is 24 according to ISI Web of Knowledge and 24 according to the Scopus database. He is the General Secretary of the Association of Plastic Surgeons of Lebanese Descent.
