Francisco de Assis Zampirolli

I hold a Math degree from UFES ('92), an Applied Math master's from IME/USP ('97), and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from FEEC/UNICAMP ('03). During my studies, I secured scholarships for CNPq's research in initiation, master's, and FAPESP's doctorate projects. I also participated in software development projects: (a) As an undergrad, I designed a SisGRAFO vehicle routing system GUI; (b) During my master's, I aided in an OCR using Mathematical Morphology (MM) with Olivetti do Brasil, enhancing the MMach library; (c) In my doctorate, I contributed to the mmorp library.Post-doctorate, until '07, I taught Programming and Software Engineering at Senac and Fei University Centers. At Senac, I led the Computer Science Bachelor's program. I evaluated undergrad computing courses at INEP. In '08, I started at UFABC, now an associate professor, engaging in Teaching, Research, Extension, and Administration. Notably, I developed MCTest, free software for assessment generation and correction, widely used by educators and thousands of students annually.(I) In Teaching, I'm accredited for BCT and BCC, teaching subjects for both degrees. I also advise the master's and doctorate program in Computer Science (POSCOMP).(II) In Research, I focus on diverse fields. I led two FAPESP projects from '10-'12 and '19-'21, continuing my master's and doctorate research, promoting MCTest-related research. I contributed to a CNPq project for students with visual and hearing impairments. I also collaborated on the Rota2030 project with UFABC, FATEC, Poli/USP, and companies, enhancing safety systems for autonomous vehicles in agriculture ('21-'24). Recently, I joined the Gene Expression Image Analysis project with Plant and Food Research, New Zealand.(III) In Extension, MCTest serves: (a) UFABC Preparatory School's needy community pre-university exams; (b) Evaluations for TSI since '10 and 13 subjects since '17; (c) Moodle-based parametric programming questions for automatic correction.(IV) In Administration, I contributed to preparing Training References for Undergrad Computing Courses per the '16 National Curricular Guidelines. I served on the University Council and Center Council of Mathematics, Computing, and Cognition. I'm also a teaching representative for POSCOMP ('23-'25). At TSI, I coordinated tutors ('10-'17) and later as deputy coordinator. I managed numerous classes for BCT and BCC students.In summary, I excel in Image Processing, Automatic Document Generation, and Computer Education. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
