Master's and Ph.D. graduate from USP, Marco Aurélio Stefanes is currently a Full Professor at FACOM/UFMS, standing out for his significant contribution in various academic and administrative areas. As one of the founders of the Pantanal Mixed Business Incubator (PIME) at UFMS, he has demonstrated his commitment to entrepreneurship and regional economic development. Furthermore, his leadership as coordinator of the Technological Center for Electronics and Informatics (CTEI) reflects his engagement in promoting innovation and technological advancement. His participation in the Board of Directors and University Council of UFMS, where he serves as faculty representation, demonstrates his active involvement in academic governance and advocacy for the interests of the university community. Marco Aurélio has also played important roles outside the academic environment, such as being president of Adufms and the Board of Directors and Audit of SICREDI União, showing his commitment to labor and financial management issues.Active in teaching since the 90s, his involvement in the Postgraduate Programs in Computer Science and in the Professional Master's Program evidences his dedication to higher education and the training of new researchers. Marco Aurélio Stefanes is an influential and multifaceted figure, whose work continues to positively impact both the academic community and society, having recently received awards for Best Scientific Work from ICCSA/2021 held in Italy and for Outstanding Professor by the Legislative Assembly of Mato Grosso do Sul. He has experience in the field of Computer Science, mainly focusing on the following topics: High-Performance Computing, Hybrid Parallel Models, Graph Algorithms, and Computational Biology.
