Daniella Bonaventura holds a degree in Pharmacy and Biochemistry with specialization in Clinical Analysis from the University of São Paulo (USP, 1999), and a Masters (2002) and Ph.D. (2005) in Sciences with emphasis on Pharmacology from the Ribeirão Preto Medical School (FMRP-USP). She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at the Institute of Biological Sciences, Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), where she is actively involved in teaching, research, and outreach.Her scientific work is focused on Cardiovascular Pharmacology, particularly investigating the cardiovascular system and perivascular adipose tissue (PVAT) under various pathophysiological conditions. She conducts research on nitrate tolerance, cardiometabolic alterations induced by hypercaloric diets, and the effects of acute and chronic sepsis. Additionally, she explores the cardiovascular consequences of viral infections such as Dengue and Zika, contributing to the identification of therapeutic targets and the development of optimized treatments for cardiovascular, metabolic, and infectious diseases.She is also the founder and coordinator of the outreach program FARMEX: Health Education, which aims to promote scientific literacy and public health education through school-based activities and strategic use of digital platforms (Instagram: @FARMEX_UFMG and WhatsApp). FARMEX is developed in partnership with the Minas Gerais State Department of Education and targets a wide audience, from adolescents to the elderly, with accessible, evidence-based content addressing relevant health topics. The project plays a key role in combating misinformation and empowering communities through science communication.Throughout her academic career, she has received eight teaching awards from graduating medical classes at UFMG, a recognition of her dedication to high-quality education and mentorship of future healthcare professionals.Her professional trajectory reflects a strong commitment to science, public engagement, and social impactintegrating cutting-edge research with inclusive education and health communication.
