Graduated in Agronomic Engineering from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (1979) with a Masters in Agronomy (Vegetable Production) from the São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1992) and a Doctorate in Ciencia Del Suelo from the University of Cordoba, Spain (1997). Retired Scientific Researcher at the Biological Institute. Has experience in Agronomy, with emphasis on Matology and Plant Health, acting on the following topics: weeds with emphasis on chemical management. herbicide ecotoxicology mainly in the study of the fate of these substances in water and soil; studies on the interactions between plant diseases, herbicides and the physiology of weeds and Enantioselectivity of chiral herbicides. He has held administrative and management positions within the Biological Institute. He was an active member of the Brazilian Society for the Science of Weed Plants, occupying management positions. Ad hoc advisor to several scientific journals and government agencies for the promotion of science and technology; organized and chaired several national and international scientific meetings. Acted as Project Coordinator for fundraising with development agencies, public and private; Technical advisor in the preparation of Reports for registration of herbicides with MAPA and ANVISA.; Speaker at national and international congresses.
