Graduation in Computer Engineering (UNICAMP 1993), master's degree in Computer Science (UNICAMP 1997) and PhD in Computer Science (PUC-Rio 2001). He is Professor in the Production Engineering Department of UFF, where coordinates the LOGIS laboratory. Conducts research in Optimization and Integer Programming, working mainly on the following types of problems: Scheduling, Network Design (including the Steiner problem) and Vehicle Routing. He is one of the world's leading specialists in the technique that combines generation of columns with cutting planes in the so-called Branch-Cut-and-Price algorithms, having already contributed important methodological innovations.
