Simone da Costa Mello

Graduated from the Faculdade de Ciências Agrárias e Veterinárias-UNESP, Jaboticabal, SP (1990), master's (1994) and doctorate (1999) in Soils and Plant Nutrition from ESALQ / USP. She did a post-doctorate at the University of Florida (UFL) from November 2011 to October 2013. She obtained the title of Associate Professor in Crop Science at ESALQ / USP in 2015. Since August 2005 he has been a professor at ESALQ / USP, currently occupying the position of associate professor at ESALQ / USP. She has experience in Agronomy, with an emphasis on Crop Science, with the main lines of action: plant nutrition, with an emphasis on vegetable production, management of the environment for the cultivation of vegetables in greenhouses; hydroponic cultivation of vegetables; indoor plant cultivation; use of artificial lighting to increase the yield and quality of crops. She teaches the disciplines of Vegetable crops, Floriculture and Landscaping; Vegetable Crop I and Protected Cultivation of Vegetables, and Vegetable crop I in the Graduate Program of Crop science. She is advisor for master's and doctoral students in the Graduate Program in Crop Science, ESALQ / USP. She is the coordinator of the Group of Studies and Practices in Vegetable Crops (GEPOL), created in 2007, for the development of extension activities by undergraduate and graduate students.
