Jeronimo Conceição Ruiz

Principal Investigator at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (René Rachou Institute - IRR), leading the Bioinformatics of Biosystems, Bioengineering, and Genomics Group. Holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry with a focus on Bioinformatics from FMRP-USP. Completed postdoctoral research at The Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute (PSSU), UK, in the assembly, analysis, and comparative genomics of trypanosomatids, and a sabbatical at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, USA, in genomic data integration (2015-2016). Served as a senior visiting researcher at the Medical University of Innsbruck, Austria (2023-2024), specializing in bioengineering and the development of predictive models in immunotherapy. Has expertise in Bioinformatics, including Systems Biology, Integrative Bioinformatics, Translational Bioinformatics, Immunoinformatics, and Interaction Networks, focusing on the computational development of immunotherapeutics, identification of diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers, treatment responses, and predictive models. As a mechatronics technician, coordinates or co-coordinates various biomedical device development projects. Leads the "Translational Immunoinformatics Network" funded by FAPEMIG.
