Academic formation: Bachelor in Biological Sciences (1993, UNESP - Brazil); Master (1997) and PhD (2001) in Agronomy concentration area Genetics and Plant Breeding at ESALQ-USP (Brazil) with stage (1999-2000) at RUTGERS-USA. Postdoc (2001-2002) at Genetics Department (ESALQ-USP). Professional Activities (2002 today): Professor at Universidade do Vale do Itajaí (UNIVALI) at Bachelor in Biological Sciences course and, Environmental Science and Technology (master / PhD) course. Principal Investigator of Applied Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology research group and coordinator of Molecular Genetics Lab. and Basic Biotechnology Lab. Advisor/co-advisor of more than 40 undergraduate students and 15 graduated ones (2002-2014). Other Activities - Section editor of Brazilian Journal of Aquatic Science Technology. Ad-hoc and reviewer of journals and research funding agencies. Former UNIVALI council member; President of Internal Committee of Biosafety; Member of Graduate and Center Committees. Main research area bioprospection; deep-sea marine biotechnology; heterologous expression; genomics and metagenomics; hydrolases and biopolymers; bioconversion and biofuels.
