Gustavo de Faria Theodoro completed his undergraduate degree (1997), master's degree (2001), and doctorate (2004) in Agronomy at São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (Botucatu, SP). He worked as a research scientist at the Agricultural Research and Rural Extension Company of Santa Catarina (Epagri) from 2002 to 2006, based at the Research Center for Family Agriculture. During this time, he was responsible for various experiments associated with the Institutional Research Projects on Grains, Sugarcane, and Tropical Fruit Growing. He began his higher education teaching career at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul in mid-2006 at the Chapadão do Sul Campus (CPCS), where he remained for seven years, teaching in the Agronomy and Forestry Engineering programs. Since the establishment of CPCS, he took on the leadership of the unit and contributed to its consolidation. Due to the need to reside in Campo Grande, MS, for medical treatment, he was transferred to the Center for Biological and Health Sciences (CCBS, now Inbio) and affiliated with the Bachelor's degree program in Biological Sciences. Since 2017, he has been based at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, where he teaches and supervises undergraduate students in the Animal Science program. He was promoted to the rank of Full Professor in 2022 and was honored with the title of "Professor Emeritus of Higher Education" in 2024.
