It has extensive experience in Molecular Biology and Biophysics (emphasis on Protein Structure) and has mainly worked in the following areas: Schistosomiasis, Protein Molecular Modeling and Structural Protein determination, DNA Sequencing and Genome Annotation, Bioinformatics, Transcriptomics, Proteomics, Neuroscience. He is the author of an invention (WO / 2003/082897: SYNTHETIC ACTIVE PEPTIDE FRAGMENTS) focused on the development of Schistosoma mansoni mimetic peptides for use as a vaccine and / or on diagnosis. It is currently a permanent researcher of the brazilian federal government ( INPI: www.inpi.org.br ) responsible for credit analysis of patent applications in Brazil and Brazilian Coordinator of the British NGO Cruelty Free International ( www.crueltyfreeinternational.org ), dedicated to end the use of animals in scientific experimentation. He is a founding member of the NGO Luisa Mell Institute of Assistance to Animals and the Environment ( www.ilm.org.br) and spokesperson of the first latin american animal party, the ANIMAIS ( www.animais.org.br ). Its currently involved with Animal Ethics (Animal Rights), Bioethics, Philosophy of Science, Neuroscience, Politics, Scientific Education and State-of-the-art Technologies.
