Antonella Tassinari holds a degree in Social Sciences from the University of São Paulo (1990) and a PhD in Social Science (Social Anthropology) from the same institution (1998), where she is currently conducting postdoctoral research at the Center for Amerindian Studies (CEstA). She completed postdoctoral fellowships at EREA (Centre dEnseignement et de Recherche en Ethnologie Amérindienne), in partnership with the University of Paris X Nanterre (2005), and at the Department of Anthropology at the University of Montreal, Canada (2014/2015). She is a Full Professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, affiliated with the Department of Anthropology, where she develops research and outreach projects within ARANDU (Laboratory for Studies in Ethnology, Education, and Sociobiodiversity), formerly NEPI. She coordinates the Committee on Education, Science, and Technology of the Brazilian Anthropological Association and is a member of the Task Force on Anthropological Education and New Audiences of the World Council of Anthropological Associations. Her expertise lies in Anthropology, with an emphasis on Indigenous Ethnology, Anthropology of Education, and Anthropology of Childhood, focusing on the following topics: Indigenous peoples, Indigenous childhood and education, ethnic identity, cultural diversity and schooling, and the history and teaching of Anthropology.
