CV Lattes

Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Instituto de Geociências (IGC)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

He graduated as Bachelor's degree in Geology from the University of São Paulo (USP, 1994), where he also held a master's degree in the post graduate program in Earth Sciences in the concentration area in Basin Geotectonics (completed in 1998) and doctorate in the same concentration area (Geotectonics, completed in november 2003), studying the tectono-sedimentary evolution of the Santa Bárbara Group in the Camaquã basin (RS). Currently is based on the Department of Geology of Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE) in Recife, where he is Associate Professor (level I). Has experience in the field of Earth Sciences, with emphasis on General Stratigraphy, Petroleum Geology and Basin Analysis, working mainly on the investigation themes: alluvial stratigraphy, petroleum geology, analysis of architecture of ancient fluvial deposits, sequence stratigraphy, provenance and palaeocurrent analysis, facies analysis, basin tectonic analysis, applied biostratigraphy, tectono-sedimentary evolution and paleogeography of sedimentary basins and geological mapping. He began his career as a geologist studying the Ediacaran-Cambrian Camaquã basin (RS) and the related area in Uruguay, area in which has more than a dozen complete papers published, and in which co-guided several monographs and scientific initiation scholarships from PIBIC/CNPq Brazil. Currently is dedicated to projects related to (i) siliciclastic and carbonate rock sequences of basins as Araripe, Jatobá , Tucano, Parnaíba, Pernambuco, Paraíba, Alagoas and Sergipe, (ii) applied in reservoir characterization of hydrocarbon analogues, as well as (iii) the tectonics and sedimentation of the rift and pré-rifte phases of the Araripe, Sergipe, Jatobá, Tucano, Alagoas and Pernambuco basins. Acts as reviewer of journals such as Revista Brasileira de Geociências (current Brazilian Journal of Geology), Geologia USP Scientific Series, Journal of Maps, Geochimica Brasiliensis and Estudos Geológicos (UFPE). He was coordinator of the LAGESE (Laboratory of Sedimentary and Environmental Geology), Research Group registered at CNPq (2005-2012). He is part of the group of researchers of the PRH-26/ANP/UFPE since March 2005. He was Coordinator of the post graduate program in Geosciences of UFPE (2009-2011), Vice-Coordinator of the undergraduate degree in Geology, Federal University of Pernambuco (2011-2013) and Coordinator of the undergraduate degree in geology, UFPE (2013-2015). He is a member (full member) of the IAS (International Association of Sedimentologists) since June 2010. He guides tree Master's degree students and co-guides two students, he also guides two undergraduate Monograph students (Field geology 4). (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
