Antonio José Piantino Ferreira completed his PhD in Experimental and Comparative Pathology at the University of São Paulo in 1996. He is an Associate Professor at the University of São Paulo. In 2025, he became a Full Professor of Avian Pathology. He has published several articles in national and international journals specializing in colibacillosis, salmonellosis, enteric viruses, immunosuppressants, and respiratory drugs. He has published several book chapters on the topics of probiotics, prebiotics, Salmonella control, colibacillosis, and anticoccidial drugs. He has also developed technological products for poultry farming. He has registered a patent. He has supervised master's dissertations and doctoral theses. He has received awards and/or honors.
