Education: Agronomic Engineering, USP; Master's Degree (MSc): Irrigation and Drainage, USP; Doctorate (PhD): Hydraulic Engineering, EESC / University of Nebraska USA, working with the Department of Biosystems Engineering (LEB) at the University of São Paulo, teaching 3 undergraduate and 3 graduate courses. Member of the Brazilian and American Societies of Agricultural Engineering (SBEA / ASABE). President of the ESALQ Agreements Committee linked to the Research Committee. Full Member of the Congregation, Research Committee, Graduate Studies Committee and Department Council of ESALQ. A total of 105 completed supervisions, including 61 graduate supervisions: 33 PhDs, 30 Masters, 7 Post-docs and 36 undergraduate scientific initiation (IC) supervisions. A total of 225 scientific articles published in international and national peer-reviewed journals and 285 scientific papers presented at Congresses and Symposia. Currently supervising 12 graduate, post-doctoral and scientific initiation students (2 IC, 4 M, 3 D and 3 PD). CURRENT RESEARCH AREAS: a) Irrigation System Design Software: IRRICAD, IRRIPRO and EPANET, b) Algorithms for irrigation management via soil sensors and climatological water balance, c) Water Use Efficiency in Irrigated Agriculture and d) Energy Cane - Bioenergy production in rainfed vs. irrigated systems (PITE Project - FAPESP). INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS: a) "University of Nebraska - Lincoln" UNL USA / Department of Biological Systems Engineering, and b) Daugherty Water for Food Global Institute. MAIN ACHIEVEMENTS: 1) Introduced the Digital Puncture Tensiometer in Brazil; 2) Creator and Coordinator of the "Multi-user Test Bench for Dripper Clogging" at the ESALQ Irrigation Laboratory; 3) Creator and Coordinator of the "USP Laboratory for Water Use Efficiency in Irrigated Agriculture". UNIVERSITY EXTENSION: a) Soil Sampling for Irrigation Project Purposes (Soil Water Retention Curve and Soil Water Characteristic Curve), b) Probabilistic Analysis Applied to the Definition of Irrigation Depth at the Project Level, c) Simulation of Wetting Bulb Formation in Drip Irrigation Systems, d) Hydraulic Design of Pressurized Irrigation Systems via IRRICAD, ALLIEV and HYDRUS-3D, e) Training in Drip and Center Pivot Irrigation Management via Soil Moisture Sensors and Solution Collectors.
