The southeastern continental margin of Brazil, north of Florianópolis, presents a unique feature, in terms of circulation. In that area, a system of currents with an inverse flow is developed (Brazil Current - Intermediate Western Boundary Current). The purpose of the project is to associate echo character patterns with this circulation system.
There is no in-depth study on the sedimentological characteristics of Mudbelts identified in the South and Southeastern Brazilian Shelf, and the objective of this scientific initiation project will be to make the analysis and characterization of samples of different Mudbelts defined in the thematic project.
